About my experience

Certified Yoga Teacher and Postgraduate Course in Therapeutic Body Techniques
My name is María Alejandra Frenkel. I began practicing yoga in Buenos Aires in 1998, following the Iyengar method under the guidance of Marina Chaselon. After eight years of continuous practice, I decided to undertake a study trip to India to deepen my understanding and knowledge of this discipline.
From 2006 to 2010, I lived in Ganga Darshan, the headquarters of the Bihar School of Yoga and Bihar Yoga Bharati (Institute of Advanced Studies in Yogic Sciences) in India. There, I completed a residential training program and received a certificate in Yogic Studies. I actively participated in the school's activities and had the opportunity to experience the benefits of yogic discipline and lifestyle. It was a time of profound personal transformation that allowed me not only to explore the richness of the various aspects of yoga (not just the physical ones) but also to deepen my understanding of the yogic tradition.
After my return from India, I continued my training and travelled to Colombia several times to obtain the certifications "Yoga Studies Level 2" and "Yoga Studies for Teachers".
In 2013, following an accident in which I fractured four vertebrae, and on the advice of my doctor, I had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I had acquired over years of practice to my own rehabilitation. It was a truly enriching experience that sparked my interest in exploring other bodywork techniques. The following year, I completed a postgraduate course in "Therapeutic Bodywork Techniques" at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, which covered techniques from the Feldenkrais Method, Eutony, Bioenergetics, and Fedora Aberastury's Conscious Movement System. Since then, I have not only given individual lessons and group classes, but also organized workshops, seminars, and programs in the field of health and wellness.
My sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each person. They are an excellent complement to rehabilitation and help prevent future injuries or functional impairments.
Individuals with a specific injury or functional impairment who are undergoing rehabilitation require a recommendation from their doctor or physiotherapist to participate in my sessions.
When do we start?

Shall we get moving?
Body therapy methods for prevention and recovery
Why IN MOTU?
IN MOTU means "in motion." Movement is the natural rhythm of the universe. Life is never static. Movement is an essential prerequisite for growth, mental and physical health, and connection with the environment.
The millennia-old discipline of yoga and current therapeutic body techniques
improve the health of tendons, joints and muscles
and can help you:

JOINT HEALTH
Gliding ability and mobility:
Gentle, repeated movements and rotations increase the production of synovial fluid, which acts as a natural lubricant and reduces friction between the cartilage.
Reduction of stiffness:
By moving the joints through their full range of motion, we combat joint stiffness, which is particularly beneficial in cases of osteoarthritis.
Greater stability:
Strengthening the surrounding muscles provides better support for the joints, thereby reducing the pressure on them.
TENDON AND LIGAMENT HEALTH
Increased elasticity:
Progressive and sustained stretching improves the elasticity of connective tissue (tendons and ligaments) and thus prevents overuse injuries.
Strengthening of connective tissue:
Regular training strengthens tendons by subjecting them to controlled loads, making them more resilient and functional.
Tension relief:
Specific body postures help to release accumulated tension in the tendons and alleviate chronic pain.
MUSCLE HEALTH
Improvement of muscle tone:
Muscle tone forms the basis for static and dynamic balance and enables efficient movements for performing actions. Appropriate muscle tone is fundamental for everyday functionality, joint stability, and correct posture. Balanced muscle tone prevents tremors and falls.
Increased muscle elasticity:
We train the muscles with active and passive stretching exercises. Through stretching, we achieve more functional muscles.
Reduction of stiffness:
Improves the range of motion of joints and muscles.
Muscle regeneration:
By improving blood flow, we help transport nutrients into the muscle tissue and thus accelerate its repair.
Reduction of inflammation and pain:
Relieves muscle tension and lowers inflammatory markers.
RECOVERY
Therapeutic yoga and body techniques complement traditional rehabilitation and accelerate healing.
Advantages in the rehabilitation process :
Improved mobility and strength.
It helps with pain management because increasing body awareness allows the person to recognize when to rest or when to continue.
It reduces stress and anxiety , which promotes a positive mental environment for physical healing.
Adaptability. Props (chairs, straps, blankets) are used to adjust postures, making yoga accessible to people with limited mobility, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, or during cancer treatment.
INJURY PREVENTION
Therapeutic body techniques and therapeutic yoga contribute to injury prevention, which is achieved through the following measures:
Increased muscle strength and stability:
Important stabilizing muscles are strengthened, thereby protecting the joints and improving stability.
Increased flexibility and range of motion:
The muscles become more elastic and the mobility of the joints improves, thereby reducing stiffness and preventing muscle strains.
Improving posture:
Muscle imbalances are corrected, leading to better spinal alignment and a reduction in chronic back and neck pain.
Body awareness and “proprioception”:
The training teaches you to connect with your body and recognize its limits, so that anomalies or excessive strains can be identified before they lead to an acute injury.
Joint lubrication:
Conscious and controlled movements promote the circulation of synovial fluid.
which is necessary to keep the joints supple, reduce friction and protect them from wear and tear.
GENERAL WELL-BEING
The various techniques promote general well-being, improve quality of life and increase physical performance.
